We believe that in order to build a better world, we all need to agree on the facts. Without facts and the truth,  there is no accountability.

We are passionate about attestation engagements and performance audits and the value they can add to an entity’s decision makers and other stakeholders in terms of accountability and efficiency, effectiveness, or economy of the entity’s operations. 

• Attestation audits answer the question, “Did this happen or is it happening?” and can be useful for example, for assessing whether the Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) practices of a governmental entity or nonprofit meet a certain criterion. 

• Performance audits answer the question, ‘What is happening, why is it happening, and how do I prevent it from happening in future?” Performance audits significantly improve the operations of US federal and state government agencies through their offices of inspector general. 

We believe that other entities, private and public, should consider and have access to these types of engagements as part of their governance toolbox. 

Our goal is to offer affordable attestation engagements and performance auditing services to state governments, local governments, and nonprofit entities. Various strategies and advancement in technology allow us to keep our expenses low without compromising quality. For example: 

• The gig economy, through platforms such as Upwork, enables us to engage skilled auditors and analysts from all over the United States on a short-term, as-needed basis. 

• We also operate virtually with no central office, relying on technology such as Webex to conduct meetings, and cloud-based services such as Asana and ShareFile to manage projects and securely store and share documents. When in need of office space, our employees and contractors use shared workspaces and co-working facilities that are now widely available in major cities.

• Our audit process is efficient. While most performance audit shops follow the Waterfall model, we embrace Agile Auditing methodology and techniques leading to shorter audits with faster reporting and closer collaboration with our clients. We continuously look for opportunities to improve the process.

• We lean heavily on data and data analysis. The focus on data increases the efficiency of our audits and allows us to rapidly examine complete populations instead of samples.

We pass on the cost savings to our clients in the form of lower hourly rates compared to other audit firms.
